Distance: 4.0 miles (6.5 km)
Start Point: Trevaunance Cove Car Park, TR5 0RU
Difficulty: Moderate – A few short climbs and descents, but nothing too steep.
This circular walk offers a mix of dramatic sea views, vibrant heathland, and a splash of folklore. The path leads you through the colourful landscape of St Agnes Head, with blue ocean on one side and wildflower-covered hills on the other. In spring, the cliffs light up with the blues of spring squill and yellows of bird’s-foot trefoil and kidney vetch.
A highlight of the walk is the view from St Agnes Beacon, a spot with sweeping views over green farmland and far-off headlands. Along the way, you’ll encounter the legend of Giant Bolster, who once terrorised the village until he was outwitted by Saint Agnes. Look out for the red-streaked cliffs said to be stained with the giant’s blood — kids especially love the story.
If you’re after a bite to eat or a drink after your walk, stop in at Genki Café-Bar, a relaxed, healthy little spot located between St Agnes village and Trevaunance Cove. It serves breakfast, brunch, light lunches, and drinks, and makes a great mid-walk or post-walk pitstop.
