A Scenic and Rewarding Coastal Walk

Durdle Door & White Nothe

This route offers stunning sea views and a good bit of exercise too. You’ll follow high paths that have been walked since the Stone Age, looking out over chalk cliffs and natural arches shaped by the sea millions of years ago during the Jurassic period.

Late spring and early summer are especially nice times to walk here. The grasslands along the way are full of wildflowers and butterflies. It’s also a great outing for dog owners – dogs are welcome all year round on both Lulworth Cove and Durdle Door beaches.

Food and Drink Along the Way

There’s no shortage of places to eat and drink nearby. Whether you’re after a hearty pub meal, fine dining, or a relaxed beach café, there’s something for everyone. Many local spots serve fresh produce from nearby farms and the coast, along with local ales, ciders, wines, and spirits.

You can find a list of local businesses that support the path and welcome visitors in the area.

Where to Stay Nearby

If you plan to stay overnight, there are plenty of options near the coast path. Choose from comfortable hotels, cosy bed and breakfasts, self-catering cottages, or scenic campsites. There’s something to suit every budget and travel style.
